CEO's Pampered Sweetheart

C70 Ning Qianyu Was Kidnapped!

C70 Ning Qianyu Was Kidnapped!

0Qi Yuwei had been sitting on the sofa this entire time when Mu Shengchen's voice thundered across the courtyard. Even she couldn't help but shiver. Her heart raced in her chest.

"What happened?" Even Old Madame Mu came out of her room.

As soon as she said that, she saw Ning Qianyu being carried out of the elevator. She paled as she rushed forward.

"Qianyu?" The old matriarch frowned. "What's wrong?"

Without waiting for her reply, Mu Shengchen spoke on her behalf, "Grandma, in the future, if you need anything from us, you can contact me. I'll come to the Courtyard on her behalf." He glowered at them all. "We both know that she won't be able to stand the torment and disrespect she's being given here."

What? How can someone talk to Grandma like this? Ning Qianyu's eyes widened in protest, but he ignored her.

"Disrespect? Torment? Who hurt her?" Old Madame Mu's eyes narrowed nervously as she glanced at the injured woman. She took another step forward. "I won't let her come over next time. I promise."

"Grandma, I'm fine," she quickly reassured, but her protests were left unaddressed.

Mu Shengchen turned his cold eyes to Qi Yuwei. "You haven't married Mu Jinbo yet, but Qianyu has already married me," he said carefully, stretching out each word one by one. "Know your place."

Although there was a faint smile on the corner of his lips, there was something about his scarily calm features that could give anyone a scare.

Qi Yuwei's face suddenly turned pale. "I..."

Seeing the man say it like that, Old Madame Mu finally understood what was going on. Her face sunk, and she could feel herself clenching her hands in disappointment. What was happening to her family?

Weng Bisa had just come down the stairs when she heard Mu Shengchen's heartless words. Although the woman still hadn't married into the Mu Family, she was already pregnant with their child.

"Yuwei's holding Jinbo's baby. She's just as much of a family as Ning Qianyu is," the older woman immediately defended her.

"Aunt Weng, I wouldn't say that just yet." He narrowed his eyes. "After all, how sure are you that the father of the child is him?"

"I..." As soon as the words slipped past his lips, she could feel her throat closing up.

Once everyone was silent, Mu Shengchen finally turned back to his grandmother. Although his features had already softened, the hardness of his gaze was still present. "We'll be heading back first."

"A–all right. Please be careful." Knowing that the man had been patient enough, Old Madame Mu didn't keep them anymore.

As soon as they stepped into the car, Mu Shengcehn looked up. "Let's go to the hospital."

"I–I only sprained my ankle. It's really nothing serious," she insisted. "There's no need to go to the hospital."

"You have to go." His voice made room for no arguments.

It was a good thing she went to the hospital. "Her ankle is badly sprained. It would take her a few days before it's fully healed," the doctor had explained as he was bandaging her ankle. "If you hadn't brought her here, it would've grown even worse."

At that point, Mu Shengchen took it upon himself to take care of her. He fed her some soup, gave her the anti-inflammatory medication that the doctor had prescribed, and even entertained her through the TV.

He didn't even allow her to walk, and he made sure of it by carrying her everywhere–even to the toilet.

He had watched her at home for two days. It was only on the third day when he had no other choice but to go to work.

"You aren't allowed to walk, all right?" he reminded her over and over again just as he was about to head out. "I'll come back to you for lunch, all right? If you want, I'll ask Ye Xi to stay and keep an eye on you."

Ning Qianyu glanced at Assistant Ye for a brief second before shaking her head. "Take him with you," she said hurriedly. "Don't worry. I'll make sure to lie down obediently, okay?"

"Fine." There was a brief pause when he glanced at Ye Xi. "Bring the phone from the study into her room."

What? She furrowed her eyebrows.

As soon as Ye Xi had placed the phone on her bedside table, Mu Shengchen immediately explained, "I'll call you up from work to talk to you, so you wouldn't get bored. Okay?"

"But..." She was just about to argue until she saw the stubborn look in his features. Seeing this, she sighed and backed down. In the past two days, he really didn't let her go out of his sight.

It wasn't as if she had two broken legs! She had only sprained herself. Wasn't this too much? Even the swelling had disappeared already, so he shouldn't stress himself out. Despite this, she slowly nodded, surrendering to his request. "Drive safe," she called.

As expected, Mu Shengchen made ten calls from eight to eleven in the morning to confirm if she was still there. Although she had expected that he'd call her from time to time, she certainly wasn't expecting this. "And here I was planning to go out on a walk," she murmured to herself, shaking her head.

At 11:30 AM, he came back on time, bringing lunch. There, he saw Ning Qianyu obediently lying on the bed, but she didn't look too happy with her predicament.

"You really listened," he said in approval.

"You called so many times. Even if I wanted to stand up, I couldn't," she complained under her breath. Just being here was already driving her insane.

Hearing her complaints, he smiled faintly. "Then do you want to watch TV?" He had to admit, if he was in her position, he'd act the same way.

"Really?" Her eyes lit up.

"Yep, we have to eat first though. I can carry you–"

"No need, I'm already recovering."

After lunch the next day, Ning Qianyu snuck out of her house while Mu Shengchen was at work. "He wouldn't know," she had told herself quietly. "Besides, I'll be back before he knows it."

However, just as she had stepped out of the door, she saw Mu Jinbo standing at their front gates.

"Fuck," she breathed out. She was just about to turn around and go the other way when the tall figure had spotted her. Before she could go anywhere, he blocked her path.

"Ning Qianyu."

It's time to face the music. Stopping, she turned around. "Second Young Master Mu, is something wrong?"

Mu Jinbo approached her anxiously. However, just as she was about to dodge him, he had already grabbed her shoulders. She gritted her teeth. Fuck, she was trapped.

"I won't marry Qi Yuwei," he said hurriedly. "I'll marry you. You're the only one for me and–"

Before he could finish, she slapped him. "Qi Yuwei is pregnant with your child. Just marry her and have a good life," she snapped, struggling under his grip. "It's time you moved past us."

"I'll marry you, and only you," he repeated.

Only her? Wasn't he the one who had broken up with her because of Qi Yuwei? And now he wanted to marry her? Was he sick in the head? Plus, now that he had already gotten Qi Yuwei pregnant, the thought of him running to her felt even more disgusting.

"The one you need to marry is Qi Yuwei. Now, step aside and don't block my way." Ning Qianyu coldly pushed him away as she strode towards the elevator, ignoring him.

Mu Jinbo's eyes had turned red from anger as he stared at her retreating figure. Not knowing what had gone on in his mind, he immediately reached into his pocket and grabbed a white handkerchief. "We'll see about that," he murmured, before stuffing the cloth onto her face.

"Ah!" She struggled for a few more seconds before falling limp into his arms. The bag fell onto the floor.

He glanced around in panic. After making sure that no one was watching them, he immediately picked up her limp figure and raced down the stairs.

In the quiet corridor, only her bag was left behind.
