The Legend of the Kyubi

Kurama had agreed after balancing the pros and cons of Neptune's request, not to mention that Shirahoshi was a pretty girl, though he had proposed that this should be two years later.     

Neptune accepted Kurama's words and prepared to announce this news, though he made it clear that Shirahoshi would have to be with her now fiancé.     

Kurama accepted this request without a second thought, this way he would also help the poor girl with her problems.     

Now there was only one thing left to do.     

Kurama offered two things to Neptune that left him shocked, the first was the ability to protect his domain in the same way as [Amazon Lily], and the second was the possibility of getting the love of his life back.     

Neptune bit his lip when he heard this, while Shirahoshi began to cry at such a cruel decision.     

The king of the merfolk didn't know if he meant it or not, but if Kurama's words of being able to see his beloved queen once again were true, then he would pay the necessary price, but at the same time, his obligations as king prevented him from accepting the albino's proposal.     

He stood waiting for quite a while until Shirahoshi could wait no longer, she quickly begged her fiancé for help.     

"No need, I already chose" - Neptune said seriously - "With the pain of my soul, I want the safety of my people."     

Kurama smiled when he saw this because he could see that this decision he was taking seriously.     

Kurama snapped his fingers and brought something that froze King Neptune, after all, he was seeing how the crystal coffin that covered the body of his late wife, was in front of them.     

Neptune tearfully saw the unchanged body of his beloved, something that was not difficult to do thanks to the crystals that were naturally created at the bottom of the sea.     

"Rinne Tensei" - murmured Kurama as the crystal shattered after a strange vapor surrounded the woman's body.     

Slowly, the inert woman's fingers began to move.     

Neptune froze when he saw this as he noticed how his wife's movements were becoming more and more normal, until he couldn't resist the tears when he saw how she slowly opened her eyes.     

"Ugh, I feel like everything is blank" - the woman muttered as she shook her head to push away the feeling of unconformity in her body - "God, it's like I've partied with Nep-chan for a whole week."     

"Otohime!" - Neptune exclaimed with excitement upon hearing the voice that had plagued his memories for so many years.     

"Huh, Nep-chan?" - Otohime said as she felt everything around her begin to materialize, watching in surprise as her husband seemed to have aged a few years.     

Slowly the memories began to pop into her head as a sad smile settled on her lips - "I see, I was dead."     

Otohime slowly sighed with regret as she remembered the feeling of something penetrating her heart, only to open her eyes in surprise as she noticed how there was no hole at all.     

"I made sure your body was in perfect condition" - Kurama calmly replied as he folded his arms.     

Otohime raised an eyebrow at the presence of this handsome man, though her heart did not falter for a moment. She loved her husband with all her being, so the presence of such a man, was not something that made her hesitate - "You were the one who brought me back?"     

"That's right" - nodded Kurama calmly as he saw how the family of the newly revived woman, was crying uncontrollably - "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a job to do."     

"Wait!" - Neptune exclaimed, only to see everything around him distort.     

Shirahoshi let out a gasp of surprise at seeing this as well, only to notice how they were back in the palace.     

"Shirahoshi?" - Otohime said in surprise at the sight of the young, huge mermaid - "Has it been that long since I took my last breath?"     

Otohime couldn't believe how big her daughter had gotten, only to start crying as she realized how much she had missed during all these years of absence.     

"Okaa-sama!" - Shirahoshi exclaimed as she hugged her mother with tears in her eyes.     

"Shirahoshi!" - exclaimed her siblings as they heard how their younger sister was crying, only to freeze when they saw who was in her arms - "M-Mother?"     

"Fukaboshi, Ryuboshi, Mamboshi, mother is back" - said Otohime as she watched her children swim to where she was and hug her with all their might - "Slow down, I don't want to die now that I'm back."     

"We're sorry!" - exclaimed her male children as they looked at their mother in surprise - ". . ."     

"Sorry for that bad joke, it's just that realizing that I've revived, let's just say that my sense of humor is quite different" - replied Otohime as she scratched her cheek.     

"But how" - Fukaboshi muttered as he looked at his mother skeptically. He was a burly, blue-haired shark merman.     

It wasn't that he didn't wish to see her back in the world of the living, but that this was too abrupt, as if it was a dream he and his siblings did not wish to wake up from.     

"We'll talk about it in private, Jamon" - Neptune said seriously - "For now there is an announcement I have to give you."     

"What is it you wish to tell us, father?" - Ryuboshi asked seriously. He was a paddlefish merfolk with orange hair and a light-brown complexion.     

"I managed to talk to Kurama-dono, and he accepted the proposal, I will give you the details in the throne room, Jamon" - said Neptune seriously.     

"Excellent, good for you, Shira-chan!" - Mamboshi, a Lampris opah merfolk with a plump build, exclaimed.     

"I want to assume that he was the one who brought mother back" - said Fukaboshi seriously.     

"Exactly, Jamon" - nodded Neptune as he shook his head - "I gain nothing by hiding it now that you figured it out yourself, son, Jamon."     

"Then he is much stronger than we thought, we could even consider him a real deity, not like those bastards of the [World Nobles]" - said Fukaboshi with disdain.     

"Son" - said Otohime with a frown.     

"Sorry mother, I can respect your stance of peace between our species and humans, but there is no way I would like the idea of breathing the same air as those bastards" - Fukaboshi said seriously - "That's why I agree with our brother-in-law's stance of eliminating that cancer once and for all, and we all agree!"     

"!" - Otohime widened her eyes in surprise when she heard this as she waited for confirmation from the other members of her family - "I thought I had settled this."     

"I'm sorry, but it's impossible" - Ryuboshi sighed as he shook his head - "After your death, all your efforts went down the drain, mother, our vassals blamed the humans for your death."     

"It also didn't help that father did nothing to try to remedy the situation because of the enormous pain of your death" - Mamboshi added as he sighed regretfully - "And it's not as if we can blame him."     

Otohime sighed as she looked at her family - "Is he like Dragon?"     

"No, unlike Dragon, Kurama-dono has the power to do what he says, Jamon" - Neptune replied seriously - "He killed Kaido"     

"!" - Otohime again was surprised, though her expression changed when she remembered something she had heard her son say - "Wait, Fukaboshi, did you say, brother-in-law?"     

"Father decided to offer Shirahoshi's hand as a token of alliance between [Gyojin Island] and [Amazon Lily], as well as a form of protection for her" - Ryuboshi replied calmly.     

"Protection?" - Otohime was getting more and more confused.     

"Someone has been making an attempt on Shirahoshi's life since your funeral, mother" - Mamboshi replied with a frown - "That's why we've been forced to keep her protected inside her room."     

"That's a glorified way of saying she's a prisoner" - Fukaboshi growled with irritation at the thought of how "sheltered" his little princess was - "I swear to god, if I had that bastard in my hands, I would have chopped him up long ago for causing so much suffering to our little big princess!"     

"Mou, I'm not little!" - Shirahoshi muttered as she puffed out her cheeks in annoyance.     

Those present smiled at the change in Shirahoshi's attitude after her mother's return, it was as if she was returning to normal after all she had suffered.     

"Right, my little girl is a full-fledged woman" - Otohime said as she hugged her baby.     

"Do you see?" - Shirahoshi asked proudly.     

"But you're still my little girl" - said Otohime as she watched Shirahoshi shot her a betrayed look.     

"Ha ha ha ha!" - the family let out a laugh when they heard this, only to widen their eyes in terror when they saw a sword go straight towards Shirahoshi.

Shirahoshi slowly looked back in terror, unable to do anything to dodge the attack, only to be surprised to see the sword fall to the ground after bouncing off with some sort of strange membrane surrounding her body - ". . ."
