0Almost everyone, if not all knew about the King's family. They had the biggest hospital in the city and ranked number one when it came to charity.

Linda could not help but wonder how Mia was able to know one of the Kings and even lived with him!

"He is not my boyfriend. He is simply accommodating me in his apartment until I find a new one'' Mia said while looking at Mr Timothy instead.

She didn't want any case where they would have to involve Leo simply because they thought he was very close with her and had a thing with her.

Mr timothy chuckled like he had just heard something amusing. He signalled for one of the men to come over and the one who had been sitting at the passenger's seat earlier handed Mr Timothy an envelope.

He took the envelope and handed it over to Mia. "You are really not dating him?'' He asked mockingly.

Mia frowned as she opened it, wondering what was inside that made him sound so confident about her dating Leo King.

When Mia took out the pictures inside, her whole body froze on the spot. It was a picture of herself kissing Louis at the party that night.

They had really been following her after all.

Linda flung the pictures from her hand and looked at it and immediately, color drained from her face while her eyes opened wider.

"Mia!'' She gasped. "What are you wearing?" She asked in disbelief. Everyone knew mia always dressed like a boy but in the picture, she wore a very short black leather skirt, high boots, her hair was done and from the angle the picture was captured, she could clrearly see the side of her face to know she was wearing make up.

"When did you turn into a prostitute?" Linda asked in a tone of disbelief.

Mia remained seated there with a straight face. She warned herself not to let her mother's words get to her. Yes, she was a slut, she was a prostitute. She didn't care what names anyone called her.

Linda stood up and began to hit her angrily and also began to cry. "Is this the kind of life you lead now?''

Mia had wanted to remain quiet but she could no loner remain still so she blew up at Linda.

"Why do you even care? Have you ever cared about me? Did you ever see me as your child? The very first time you called me by name was because of this!? Because you were disappointed?'' She asked with a mocking laugh.

"I don't care about what you think anymore so do your worse... go ahead and hit me. If you think I give two shots about what you think then you must be dreaming''

Linda had never been so shocked in her entire life as she heard Mia speak. She blinked a couple of times to be sure that was still her daughter standing there and not some doppelganger.

"Wow!" Mr Timothy exclaimed as he watched in awe.

Mia turned to look at him with a frown. "What's your point? Why did you have to show this?'' She asked as she angrily took the photos from her mother's hand before shredding it into several pieces.

Mr Timothy folded his hands in front of his chest and asked Linda to sit down. He didn't care about their mother–daughter drama. He was there for business.

Once Linda sat down while still looking at Mia in shock, he cleared his throat and began to speak again.

"You asked what my point is right?" He turned to ask Mia.

"So the thing is…. Marry my son and your whole debt... puff!"

"I'll forget about it and treat you well as my daughter in law. Trust me."

When he saw the dark glare she was giving him, he added...

"Or... since you have a rich boyfriend, you could just stop denying it and ask him to help you pay me back my money. I want my money" He said with a small smile.

"He is not my boyfriend.'' She said through gritted teeth making him snicker.

"And this whole thing has nothing to do with me or him. You should go after the one who borrowed the money. I'm out!" She quickly added.

"Oh no darling…" He shook his head and wagged a finger at her..

"It has everything to do with you."

"Because I am Mary's sister? Is that how you operate?" She asked in annoyance.

She had been willingly doing it because of her mother but how she was done. She shook her head at herself pitifully for even thinking Linda deserved her pity since she was considering taking odd jobs again to help assist her in paying off Mary's debts. But Linda was nothing but an ingrate and a bad mother!

"Not just that sweetheart.. but this has–"

"Mr Timothy!" Linda interrupted. "What do you think you are doing?"

"Why? You scared?" He asked in a sarcastic tone before turning to look at Mia.

He picked up the sealed envelope that had been lying idly on the table and handed it over to Mia.

Mia furrowed her brow when she realised it was an agreement between Mary and Mr Timothy where she had promised to pay back within a specific period of time.

"What has this got to do with me?'' Mia asked as she looked at him with cold eyes.

"Patience is virtue Mia Lucas.. read the third clause.. Go on" He urged her.

"Do you think this is funny right now?" Linda asked as she tried to take the document from Mia but one dark glare from Mr Timothy had her withdrawing her hands.

Linda's heart began to beat erratically while her nails dug into her sweaty palm.

She watched how the color gradually drained from Mia's face and quickly removed her eyes when Mia turned to look at her.

"What... is the meaning of this?" Mia asked in a voice with clear disbelief evident on it.

"Bingo!" Mr Timothy said with a smile as he snapped his fingers together.
