Reborn as a Mom

a perfect victim

a perfect victim

0An intriguing drama played in the courtroom as well.

Pity that there wasn't an audience to appreciate it.

For the sake of keeping her identity a secret, the courtroom was practically empty.

Clara displayed her excellent acting skills in front of the judge. She was a foxy woman, a stain on the names of all women in the world.

She played a perfect victim. She broke down in front of everyone. Her heart-wrenching sobs made everyone except A.K feel bad for her. He felt like laughing sarcastically.

When Clara glanced in the direction of A. K, she cowered in fear as if she had no courage to look at him, Clara described the torment she had faced.

She succeeded in making herself look pitiful. In between, she even managed to flash some wounds of hers.

All the while he was being charged, A.K. didn't refute anything.

His eyes stared Clara all the time; however, he didn't find a tinge of guilt or embarrassment.

A.K closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He had accepted the situation already. His stare made her flinch for a second, yet that only came across as fear of the victim.

His calmness was beyond her imagination. She had expected to hear at least some accusation or sadness. He only stared at her with an unexplainable emotion in his eyes. Self-ridicule was the only thing A.K was feeling right now that a woman like her had fooled him.

With no one on his side to support him, all his explanations were a lost cause.

All shreds of evidence were against him, the medical records, the hotel CCTV footage, and the pill bottle which surprisingly had his fingerprint on it.

The judge was a female. She held empathy for Clara and contempt against Ak.

Clara won the case easily. She won the case by a landslide.

The court handed down a guilty verdict against Ak Jain.

He was condemned to prison for 12 years on charges of repeated **** and bodily harm. Since the victim tried to commit suicide, the sentence was increased.

-----

A group of reporters swarmed around Mr.Jain outside of the Jain Company.

"Mr. Jain, what do you have to say about your grandson being acquitted for the crimes by the court?"

What could he even say?

He never held an ounce of attachment to A.K. Jain because his daughter, A. K's mother brought shame to him.

However, in front of society and for the sake of his image, he adopted A.K. Jain, fed him, provided him a roof.

Now he was trying to bite the hand that fed him.

So unfilial...

He let A.K. and the world believe, that he can compete for the heir position, just for showing his righteousness.

Now when he got convicted by the court to prison for many years, Mr. Jain felt no remorse.

"I have no such grandson," he, said in an emotionless tone. He didn't care for that unfilial grandson. And that's how, with just five words, he abandoned A.K.

Soon, his bodyguards withdrew him from the crowd safely to the car.

****

The man who stood top of the ladder in his last life was now rotting in prison.

The world forgot to him soon.

A few months later, Mr. Jain died of a stroke naturally. At the time A.K. was in prison, so his death probably had nothing to do with A.K.

R.K. inherited the business, however, with the death of Mr. Jain, the shares dropped, and the Company plummeted massive loss.

Giving the power of attorney of Jain Group to his maternal family, R.K. who could not handle all this, took all the money he can and left the country.

He bought a private island far from the country and enjoyed living there.

Maybe that's what he did the past life.

The competitors crushed the Company, which was on the peak of Glory.

Jain Group lost all the fame which took generations to build on. They lost all reputation they had made, all their hard work in vain.

A family who held power and control firmly in their hand became unknown in a few years.
