Saving the overbearing CEO (BOYLOVE)

Fifth World: Mosquitoes Did It

Fifth World: Mosquitoes Did It

0It seemed today there was going to be a live show of the real housewives. The only difference was that they would be pulling out each other's hair for one man.

Just when Wen Qinxi thought things wouldn't get more interesting than this, Qie Ranzhe walked in and became the ignition source that sparked a catfight in the harem. His bottom lip was bruised with an alluring red colour. Everyone knew what type of injury this was. Coupled with Zhao Zhi's words earlier it cemented their speculations.

Someone among their sisterhood successfully bedded the sect leader right under their noses. Qie Ranzhe didn't seem to notice their odd gazes with his eyes fixed on Zhao Zhi in silence. He didn't even respond to the morning greetings just standing there staring at Zhao Zhi.

Wen Qinxi felt his back hairs stand on end. He wordlessly stood up to leave lest this sect leader exposed him in front of this group of scorned women otherwise he might end up being the main cast member in today's episode of the real housewives of the Qie Sect. As the saying goes 'hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

Since Qie Ranzhe was blocking a third of the door, Wen Qinxi smiled innocently gesturing to the sect leader to make way but Qie Ranzhe remained unmoved.

'Fine, I will just squeeze my way out,' he thought before turning his body to the side and squeezing out of the room with a stiff smile. As soon as he was free, Wen Qinxi heaved a sigh of relief and scurried away but who would have thought this sect leader wasn't done with him yet.

Qie Ranzhe cleared his throat and gestured for the ladies to carry on with whatever it is they were doing. He then followed behind Zhao Zhi catching up with him in a few strides. Seeing that Zhao Zhi was purposefully ignoring him, Qie Ranzhe lightly grabbed hold of his elbow and said, "Shidi, I am hungry," in a serious tone like he didn't see anything wrong with what he said.

Sure enough, Wen Qinxi frowned unable to understand why Qie Ranzhe would tell him that. Yes, if it was in the fourth world he would have darted to the kitchen in a hurry no questions asked but this was the fifth world and their relationship wasn't exactly there yet.

"Then would this sect leader like me to direct him to the kitchen in his own pavilion?" asked Wen Qinxi feeling rather smug.

Qie Ranzhe seemed unfazed by the obvious sarcasm. "Indulge me.... just this once," he said taking a step closer.

Wen Qinxi initially thought Qie Ranzhe was upset about the lip hickey and knew he was the culprit. This led him to the conclusion that the sect leader was asking him to make breakfast as punishment but it turned out Qie Ranzhe had no idea he was bitten by a mosquito at the break of dawn. Of course, that mosquito would be him.

"Why not join your harem for breakfast. They were eagerly waiting for you to make your appearance a couple of minutes ago," replied Wen Qinxi in a rather sour tone. The word harem always left a bad taste in his mouth like he had eaten an unripe grapefruit.

Qie Ranzhe shook his head and said, "I don't trust them neither should you," before grabbing his wrist to pull him towards the kitchen, "Don't ever eat what they prepare."

"That's a bit harsh," mumbled Wen Qinxi while being dragged away. His voice was barely audible that any regular person wouldn't be able to make sense of what he said but Qie Ranzhe heard it. He paused in his tracks and glared at Zhao Zhi before resuming the short trip to the kitchen.

Qie Ranzhe led him to the kitchen before taking a seat on the chair with his hands on the kitchen table waiting for him to finish.

Wen Qinxi, "...."

It seemed he had been demoted from a senior disciple to a cook in just a few days. "Sect leader Qie, aren't you being a little naive?.... How certain are you that I wouldn't add an extra special ingredient in your food?" said Wen Qinxi refusing to go down without a fight. He knew he would go down with ease but if he didn't put up a good fight it would make him seem like a pushover.

"Because I am watching you. How about some seafood congee?" said Qie Ranzhe while rubbing his chin with his thumb.

Wen Qinxi almost rolled his eyes at the man's words. Did he look like a servant in Qie Ranzhe's eyes? The guy even dared to place an order.

"You will eat whatever I make," muttered Wen Qinxi while harshly handling the ingredients. While cooking he felt a piercing gaze boring at his back making him feel like a sushi chef at an open kitchen restaurant. Being watched like this made him feel nervous which meant his cooking actions were pretty fast.

He placed the bowl in front of Qie Ranzhe and leisurely folded his hands across his chest ready to exact revenge. Since the sect leader dared to watch him while cooking then he also dared to watch him while he is eating.

Qie Ranzhe smiled and said, "Thank you," while picking up a porcelain spoon. "About last night.... did I do anything excessive?" he asked while stirring the steaming hot congee. This was the real reason he came looking for Zhao Zhi.

Anything from the time he found a person in his bed, he couldn't remember. One can only imagine his shock when he woke up in Zhao Zhi's bed with a massive hangover. He had to circulate his Qi to get rid of the side effects of excessive drinking and as soon as he felt refreshed, he went looking for Zhao Zhi.

This meant he didn't care for Zhao Zhi's cooking, he was just using it as an excuse to be alone with him and start an inquisition into last night's events. As soon as he asked this question, he ate a spoonful of the congee and felt a stinging pain coming from his lips. Qie Ranzhe drew in a cold breath of air with his fingers touching the sore lip.

He immediately stood up and checked his reflection in the barrel of water at the corner of the room. "What the...," he said staring at his busted lips. He then turned around to look at Zhao Zhi and asked, "Did we fight last night?"

Wen Qinxi, "...."

'Well yes, our lips fought early this morning,' said Wen Qinxi to himself while scratching his head in nervousness. He had to come up with a plausible excuse otherwise he is a dead man walking. Well, any excuse better than a mosquito did it would suffice because that wound was definitely not done by a mosquito.

Mosquitoes, 'Bruh, this has nothing to do with us.'
