They had lunch together every day at the office.
While Yanmei was on leave, he had time to bring Yeona home to her apartment. When Yanmei reported work again, Iseul brought Yanmei home first before going to Yeona's apartment.
On their first weekend as a couple, they went to the movies, and every night thereafter was an everlasting make-out session for them. Finally, Iseul spent a weekend outside the mansion, staying overnight at Yeona's apartment, resting on her living room sofa.
The news of Yeona and Iseul's blooming relationship naturally spread across the office, and it left May Lin completely jealous. She tried to influence Yeona again and again, but Yeona kept repeating to her that she liked Iseul, no matter what.
After two weeks of trying to get into Yeona's head, May Lin purposely came to Yeona's office floor to confront her. It was because she had had enough, seeing Yeona and Iseul always together, that she lost her reason. She was yapping about Iseul playing both of them and how he was mere security.
In front of Yeona's co-workers, May Lin said, "Yeona, why aren't you listening to me anymore? Don't you believe me?"
Yeona was sitting on her desk, busy with work, when May Lin stormed right before lunch break. Her face turned red in anger as she answered back, "Do not defame my boyfriend because he is absolutely not! And I repeat, he does not like you! He never looked your way! You can just dream on!"
The shock on May Lin's face. She did not expect Yeona to retort angrily. She looked at her colleagues and shrugged. She raised a brow at Yeona and said, "Excuse me, Yeona. I don't know what you are talking about. And why are you so upset? I am only here to help you."
"I - I'm your friend and I'm only concerned about you."
"I saw you, May Lin," said Yeona after rolling her eyes. She stood up from her seat and made her voice louder for everyone to hear. "I saw you hand over a box of wife cake to Iseul a day before his birthday... and apparently, you have been throwing yourself at Iseul for two years now! Hah! Pathetic!"
May Lin took a step back, covering her mouth. She had always been careful over the past year. She never expected Yeona to see her, especially since she always had purposely arrived minutes before eight.
She knew Yeona was a hard worker, often coming into the office nearly an hour before time. May Lin assumed she had never been found out.
May Lin felt her throat dry, that she repeatedly gulped her own fluid. She said, "That - that is not true. I - I don't like Iseul!"
She clenched her hand into a fist and gritted her teeth. Frowning, she yelled back to Yeona, "Yeona, he is playing both of us! Iseul is also courting me! Can't you see - "
"May, I heard your roaring voice all the way from inside my enclosed office!" Yanmei cut off her words, countering on behalf of Iseul and Yeona. She stepped outside of her office, after seeing a commotion from her glass divider.
"Miss - miss, Yanmei. I - I'm sorry," May Lin sneered and quickly responded. She did not realize her voice had become loud enough for Yanmei to hear from her enclosed office.
"For the record, I would know if Iseul is courting more than just one woman, May. He is my personal security, after all." Yanmei raised her phone and said, "I have his every location in the past few days. Iseul has a tracker on his phone and his watch. I know exactly where he is every minute of the day."
Yanmei scanned his phone for seconds before saying, "Base on Iseul's whereabouts this week, he had only been to three places; the office, Yeona's apartment, and the Yeongs' estate."
"On Iseul's birthday, only Yeona went to the mansion to greet him a happy birthday and they both went on a date last weekend."
"More importantly, Iseul would never have the time to court you! He is far too busy to look your way!" Yeona added, slamming her hands on the table.
Yanmei could see the rage in Yeona's eyes that she opted to put an end to May Lin's madness. She said, "May Lin, I think you are not fit for this company. I'll have the HR look into the appropriate sanction for your behavior today!"
"If I were you, you save yourself the face and tender your resignation instead!" Yanmei said while casting a tigress glare at May Lin.
May Lin's lips trembled in disbelief at how everything escalated to that point. She turned to Yeona and said, "But Yeona - I - I was only looking out for you. Iseul - he -he is not good enough for you!"
"May Lin, stop it! When are you ever going to get it through that thick head of yours! I like Iseul - No, actually I already love him! So, stop! Because nothing you say will sway me away from loving him!" Yeona said, shouting at the top of her lungs.
May Lin could hear the whispering from the other employees. She saw their disgust stare at her. She sneered, ready to cry, and turned around, hastily leaving the office floor, but not missing to bump into Iseul.
Iseul had heard Yeona and May Lin's recent exchanged. He walked in with everyone looking at him in apprehension, most especially Yeona.
Yeona felt ashamed. It had only been two weeks since they got together, but she immediately concluded that she loved Iseul.
Iseul, on the other hand, was on cloud nine, but he contained his excitement, especially seeing Yanmei around. He first glanced at Yeona's flushing face before turning to his second boss. He said, "Mrs. Permission for me and Yeona to go on a half-day leave, please."
Yanmei's eyes narrowed. Her mouth twitched before she asked, "Why? What are you going to do?"
"Ahhh... Mrs. Matters of the." He walked closer to Yanmei and coughed before whispering to her, "Desires of the Heart."
Yanmei's mouth formed into a circle. Her eyes landed on Yeona for seconds, her face reflecting a shocked expression. However, her reaction quickly changed, giving Yeona a wink. She leaned over to Iseul and said, "Okay. You can go on leave, but remember, I was your cupid! If Andy asks, you should answer the same."
"Haha! Sure, Mrs. I will say as you wish... Can - can we go now?" Asked Iseul.
"Go," said Yanmei.
Iseul practically dragged Yeona out of her desk, rushing to the lift and out of the office building.
Reaching the parking lot, Yeona pulled her hand and said, "Iseul, where - where are we going?"
Iseul gulped and hugged Yeona tightly. He said, "Yeona, I want half a day with you, repeatedly saying that you love me."
